Likewise, Michelle used to run tracks in her younger days. She ran 400 meters in college at UC Irvine and even had other roles in the sports arena. She was a consultant and former FVJAAF Football Youth Organization board member as well. Likewise, she volunteered as a member of the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation‘s annual race for The Cure for Childhood Cancer campaign.
How Did James and Michelle Meet?
Since the player’s parents have not maintained a public profile, very little is known about their private life, including their marital details. However, both James and Michelle are from California and work in the corporate field. So, it might be possible that they could have met either in their hometown or in a professional setting.

The McDuffie Pair Are Parents Of Five Children
In their long marriage, Mr. and Mrs. McDuffie have raised five kids together. They have 4 sons and 1 daughter. Unfortunately, the couple lost their second child, Tyler McDuffie, in 2015.
The loving parents have also given them somewhat similar names: Justin, Tyler, Jules, Trent, and Jared, from eldest to youngest.
One Of Their Sons, Tyler, Passed Away In His Teenage Years
Sadly, Trent’s brother passed away in 2015 due to health complications. During the tragic time, Tyler got sick for 2 weeks. Later, he ended up in a hospital, and the following day, he died of a heart attack. The whole world stopped for Trent and his family when his dad brought the tragic news
Trent found it difficult after he lost his sibling. He didn’t feel like he was present most of the time. But the footballer didn’t want to hold his family down, and he eventually locked a lot of emotions away.
Trent got his number 22 from his late brother
No doubt Trent is very close to his family. He is often found talking about how “#22” chose him. In July 2021, when asked, “What’s special about the number 22 that he wears as a necklace?” he said it’s a number he got from Tyler. He revealed that his deceased brother used to wear the jersey with the number 22 while playing in college.
Interestingly, it never crossed Trent’s mind to get that number. But when he first joined Washington University, he found out that his locker number was co-incidentally 22. So, he took a picture and sent it to his dad and mom, saying it was fate, and he made the right choice. Trent felt like the stars were aligned.
In the same way, his parents also told him that it was a green light that he was meant to be here.
Like Parents, Like Children
As stated above, both Michelle and James are sports enthusiasts. Additionally, all of their kids are into sports in one way or another, especially their sons.
Trent revealed that his oldest brother Justin started as a running back in college and wore the number 26. Likewise, as stated above, his late brother Tyler also played football during his college days. Likewise, the Mcduffie pair’s youngest son, Jared, plays for Titans T&F /XC.
Interestingly, Trent’s mother initially didn’t want him to play football all year round. He was asked to do other sports because it would help him with movements, and he wouldn’t be burned out. So, following in the footsteps of his mother, he also joined the track team. Additionally, the NFL star went to the state championships in the 4*100 relay and did a personal-best 10.82 100 meters.
Trent’s Family Is His Biggest Support
The talented athlete’s family has been there with him every step of the way. The McDuffie bunch has been there the whole time, from cheering Trent when he was first drafted by the Chiefs to even helping him renovate his house. Likewise, he credits his loved ones for his achievements.
In October 2018, Trent presented his parents with the Dream Champion Award after receiving the All-American Bowl Jersey. In fact, one of his coaches, Jason Negro stated that his family has done a phenomenal job of raising a very good young man like him.
