Chase played both football and basketball in high school and he was good at both. However, it was his step-brother Jacob who helped Chase stick with football rather than basketball. He would even post the clips of his brother’s game on Facebook. Moreover, Jacob contacted Division I football programs for Chase. Jasmine shuffled the papers away when her son, Chase wanted to register for football when he was seven. He returned with the same request the next year but she declined again. She thought he would be a great lawyer instead of a footballer. Ultimately, she let her son pursue his dreams.
Claypool gave up her apartment when Chase decided to attend Notre Dame and started living in a basement. She shared how she had given her children a place to sleep, and a car to drive, cooked for them, and gave them whatever they needed.
