Alongside that, even when Garrett was young, Candace made sure that he was not eating burgers and fries, his favorite food.

She once said,

“We have a lot of conversations as a family about what Garrett is going through, but he’s also seen a lot having grown up in a family of athletes. His brothers have gone through it. As things come up, we talk about it, make sure he’s staying focused.”

She Was Against The Postponement of the 2020-21 Fall Sports Season

When The Big Ten Conference decided to adjourn the 2020-21 season, many athletes’ parents were totally against it. Among them was Garrett’s mother, Candace. She, like many other dads and moms presented there, just wanted to have some answers for their children.

Thus, it won’t be wrong to say that most of the Wilson kids have athletic DNA. Well, Cameron was a wide receiver at Iowa & Ohio University. He was also named to all-metro ream in the Columbia area. Furthermore, he holds the school records for touchdowns and receiving yards.

Their other son, Donovan, was a running back at Bowling Green and Georgia Tech. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Communication from Bowling Green State University. He also later received his MBA from the same University.

Currently, he is an NPC Competitor and an ACE-certified PT.

As for  Shea, he is the President at Sech’s and has been working there for over nine years. He received his bachelor’s degree in Specialized Studies, Business Sales, and Strategic Communications from Ohio University.

Last but not least, the couple’s lovely daughter, Sydney, is a Member Services Associate at The Ohio State University. She will be completing her Bachelor of Science in Education, Sport Industry in April 2024.

Even if only Garrett is pursuing his career as an athlete, all of the Wilson children played high school basketball.
