Josh Johnson, born Joshua Javon Johnson, is a quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2008 NFL Draft. Since then, Johnson has been a member of 14 different NFL teams which is a record in itself.
Josh was born to Gordie Johnson and Rosemary Whisenton in Oakland, California. His father, Gordie is a former basketball player and coach. Besides basketball, Gordie is also a martial arts instructor.
Josh’s mother, Rosemary raised her four children as a single mother after Gordie left her when the kids were young. She even worked three jobs to make ends meet.
Josh was a letterman in football, basketball, and track & field at Oakland Technical High School. He played four seasons, from 2004 to 2007, as a quarterback at the University of San Diego.

- Johnson was signed and released multiple times by the San Francisco 49ers before he joined the Bengals on April 2, 2015. The Bengals again released him on August 25, 2015.
- Johnson signed with multiple teams in the coming years such as the NY Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens, however, he didn’t play for any of the teams.
- His next NFL appearance came on December 9, 2018, against the New York Giants which they lost by 40-16.
- Afterward, Josh Johnson signed with the Detroit Lions, 49ers, NY Jets, Ravens, and Denver Broncos. However, he hasn’t got any significant game time with any of the teams.
- He signed a deal with the Baltimore Ravens on May 22, 2023. He was released and signed twice in between and finally re-signed by the Ravens on September 25, 2023.
