Joseph “Joe” Tyler Mixon is a running back for the Cincinnati Bengals. He played high school football at Freedom High School in Oakley, California where he also played basketball. He was a regular starter at running back while he played 16 basketball games for the Falcons.

Joe was born to John Mixon and Alise Mixon in Oakley, California on July 24, 1996. His father, John is a former footballer who played in high school and college. John also tried his luck in the NFL with the 49ers, however, he couldn’t play for long due to his knee injury.

He is one of the five children of his parents. Joe has three sisters; Tracie Mixon, Shalonda Mixon, and Shanice Mixon, and one brother; John Mixon Jr. In March 2023, Joe’s older sister, Shalonda Mixon was booked into Hamilton County Jail for her alleged involvement in a shooting at Joe’s home. Shalonda turned herself into authorities and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
