Two years after their daughter, the loving duo became parents for the second time when their son, Jameson George Nantz was born on February 1, 2016. Only six days later on 7th February, the broadcaster was set to announce Super Bowl 50 between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers.

Amid the hectic schedule, his wife Courtney urged Nantz not to miss the match for their child’s birth. He told the New York Post,

It would have killed me if I would not have been there for the birth of my son, but my wife made it very clear: ‘Don’t even talk to me, you’re doing the game.

He added,

I was going to follow her instructions. But this is absolutely perfect timing, my boy definitely has a sense of occasion, and a great appreciation and respect for timing and his father’s needs for things to be organized and well-timed.

But, fortunately enough, their son, Jameson was born nine days before his due date, making it perfect timing for his father, Nantz.

Following the doctor’s concerns, Richards was put on a partial bed so that the baby might arrive well before the Feb. 10 due date.

Jim further told the Post,

At that point, I never thought we would make it all the way to February 1st. I was just hoping we’d get to 36 weeks, but at 30 weeks they told us we had to be careful and the potential we were going to be early — I mean really early — labor. It’s been a stressful couple of months
