The Cleveland Browns running back, Nick Chubb’s childhood wasn’t ideal after his parents separated early. Even though his parents agreed on co-parenting, he didn’t get quality time from both his parents. Well, irrespective of their issues, Henry and Lavelle did a great job co-parenting the kids and teaching them their family history. Yes, you heard it right, the Chubb family has an interesting history that they are proud of.

Nick Chubb’s Parents Are Divorced

Henry and Lavelle Chubb got married and gave birth to their three children, Zach Chubb, Neidra Chubb, and Nick Chubb. They decided to separate when the NFL player was only 4. The former couple shared joint custody of their kids but the kids stayed with their mom in Cedartown.

Nick and his siblings would visit their dad at Chubbtown on holidays. Before Henry tied the knot with Lavelle, he already had his firstborn, Henry Chubb II with his previous wife, Shenna.

A Brief Description About Their Children

Henry and Lavelle’s first child, Zach Chubb played as a defensive for Air Force back in his days but after his injury, he is now a Serial Entrepreneur. Besides, he is a father to a six-year-old daughter.

Likewise, their son, Nick Chubb started his football career in high school. He played college football for the University of Georgia. Nick was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 2018 NFL Draft and ever since then, he has been playing for them.

Lastly, their youngest and only daughter, Neidra Chubb is a fitness freak. Besides focusing on her wellbeing, she founded Mommy Strong which is dedicated to the families that bear child loss. She is married and is a mother of two children however, unfortunately, the young mother lost her baby boy back in 2018.

Let’s not forget Nick’s half-brother, Henry II who played as a cornerback at Troy University. He was also honored with the Atlanta Journal-All-State Constitution after being chosen to participate in the Georgia North-South All-Star Game.

Henry Played College Level Football

Nick’s father is a native of Cave Spring, Georgia and he went to Darlington School. He then attended Valdosta State University for his further studies. He was a member of the football team in 1982 and led the team in the first two seasons of Blazer football. Chubb was selected Honorable Mention All-State as a senior in 1979.

Talking about Nick’s mother, Lavelle is the daughter of Brenda Weaver. She grew up in Georgia with her brother, Kenney Weaver who is married to Shonda. Her education and career details are kept under wraps. After her divorce from Henry, she married Walter Gregory.

Are They Related To The NFL Player, Bradley Chubb?

The Chubb family history traces back to the mid-1800s when their ancestors founded Chubbtown, Georgia. Henry and Aaron Chubb are brothers which makes Nick and Bradley cousins. However, they didn’t find out about the truth until 2013 when Nick was all over the news across Georgia for his playing skills. He then dug out his past information and turns out, that he and Henry used to play football together but lost touch during their college years.

This town means a lot to the Chubb family. Nick’s family spent plenty of time there growing up visiting the church and learning to swim. Meanwhile, Nick, the Cleveland running back said, “My family created a legacy in Chubbtown, Georgia, and I wanted to make them proud.”

His Parents Have Always Been the Go-To People For Him

Despite being divorced, Henry and Lavelle have maintained an amicable relationship, possibly for their kids. We have seen them attending Nick’s games since his college days. Besides, we can see them writing in support of their kids, including the NFL star on their socials. So whenever Nick comes home, he knows that that is a haven for him.

The NFL player’s mom attends his game and even has an Instagram highlight dedicated to him. She said, “He just has a love for football, He knows what else comes with it. There are pros and cons to everything. But if he could do it without being in the spotlight, he would.”
