Linda Lynch is the wife of former safety John Lynch, who won Super Bowl XXXVII with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Besides being the spouse of the then-NFL player, she is an athlete herself. From playing tennis in college to playing professionally, Linda knows the inside details of the sports field.

Having a sports lover as a life partner definitely helped John towards a successful career. Plus, the couple is also of a generous nature and gives back to society because that’s how they were raised.

Linda Lynch Is A Former Tennis Player

The native of Southern California has an immense love for sports, especially tennis. Linda started playing tennis in high school. After graduating from Torrey Pines High School, she joined the University of Southern California on scholarship, where her skills flourished further.

John’s wife, Linda, used to play tennis in college.

She was a part of the women’s tennis team from 1989 to 1992. The collegian athlete also went pro and played on a tennis tour for some time. However, it has been ages since she quit playing professionally. She is currently the vice president of The John Lynch Foundation.

John Lynch’s Wife, Linda Lynch, Is The Only Daughter Of The Allred Family

Born as Linda Allred in 1969, she is the daughter of Douglas Allred and Ann Allred. Her dad is a commercial real estate developer, while her mother was a generous benefactor. Sadly, her mom died in 2013 due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

John’s partner grew up in San Diego with her four brothers, Doug Allred Jr., David Allred, Richard Allred, and John Allred. Her youngest brother, John, played in the NFL from 1997 to 2002.

Linda And John Have Been Married For Over Three Decades

After knowing each other for several years, Allred married her best friend, John, on February 12, 1994. After several decades of togetherness, the couple is still head over heels in love. They tied the knot right before Lynch’s rookie season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers started.

They prefer a private relationship, considering both of them aren’t active on social media. However, John never misses to flaunt his wife in public whenever he has a chance. The partners have made numerous public appearances, showing their love over the years.

The Lovebirds Met In High School

As said earlier, Linda attended Torrey Pines High School. There, she met a cute junior, John. She is two years older than him, so they weren’t very close in high school. However, the retired player always had an eye for her. When Linda joined college, she was roommates with his older sister, and their friendship started to blossom.

Initially, John would go to cheer her on but was too shy to talk to her.

Lynch always had a crush on her but was never courageous enough to ask her out. One day, John’s father invited Linda for dinner; the rest is history. After dating for four months, they got engaged.

The Lynch Couple Is Proud Parents Of Four

The married duo has also embraced parenthood alongside their blissful marital life. They have four children: Jake, Lindsay, Lilian, and Leah Lynch.

Their son, Jake, has followed in the footsteps of his dad. He started playing football at Cathedral Catholic High School. He then joined Standford University in 2018 and played college football. Besides playing and studying, he did his internship as a Cardiothoracic Surgery Summer Research Intern at Standford Health Care.

Jake then joined Oak View Group as a Business Development Intern and Searchlight Capital Partners as a Private Equity Summer Analyst for a few months from June 2020 to August 2021 and July 2022 to August 2022 respectively.

Talking about one of their daughters, Lindsay followed her mother’s path into tennis. She also attended Cathedral Catholic and joined Santa Clara University for her further studies. She played tennis there as a freshman but called it quits soon.

Their Daughter, Leah, Wasn’t Happy When John Joined The 49ers

When the San Francisco 49ers hired Lynch as their general manager, all of his family took the news well. However, there was one person who started sobbing as soon as she heard the news, and that was their then 9-year-old daughter, Leah.

John asked her what was wrong because she wasn’t someone who would cry often. The little girl replied,” No Daddy, The 49ers are horrible.”

Writing Letters Was Linda’s Love Language

Mrs. Lynch used to write letters for every game that her hubby, John, played in the NFL. Lynch started succeeding as a player once she started sending him notes before every match. His teammates used to tease him about this, but as he started becoming successful, they used the same tactics.

Now, the letters weren’t as lovey-dovey as one expected them to be. Instead, it was just basic reminders and rules of the match so he wouldn’t forget. The former player shared how it was special for him.

Linda Lynch And Her Spouse, John Lynch, Run A Foundation Together

John and Linda, both being former athletes, knew how much sports and education meant in the world. So, the life partners came up with an effort to support young people in fulfilling their dreams in the form of their foundation, The John Lynch Foundation.

Linda recalled,” It was an effort to really have an impact on something we were passionate about. Our heart was with kids, with student-athletes, this is what we needed to do.”
